St. Louis Insurance Claims Denial Lawyer
At The Hoffmann Law Firm, L.L.C. we represent people whose insurance claims have been wrongfully denied by their insurance company.
Has your auto insurance company refused to pay benefits under your uninsured or underinsured motorists’ coverage? Have you had a life insurance claim denied because the policy holder committed suicide? Did the insurance company refuse to pay double indemnity when your family member died in an accident?
Insurance companies are willing to go to great lengths to protect their bottom line. As such, they routinely offer injured people less than their case is worth and deny valid claims if they can find a loophole.
At The Hoffmann Law Firm, L.L.C. we represent people whose insurance claims have been wrongfully denied by their insurance company. Attorney Christopher Hoffmann has been resolving insurance claim denials for more than 15 years. He can help you recover the insurance benefits you need and deserve.
What is a Policy Exclusion?
When insurance companies draft policies, they purposefully exclude certain types of losses from coverage. Losses that are not covered by the policy are called exclusions. Often, policy holders are not even aware of the exclusions until they try to bring a claim and the insurance company denies the claim. For example, a spouse may bring a life insurance policy claim after the death of a husband or wife only to have the insurance company cite a policy exclusion for failing to disclose a medical condition when denying payment on the policy.
What many people don’t know is that some exclusions in insurance policies are actually illegal and cannot be enforced by the insurance company. For instance, in Missouri, insurance companies cannot enforce a provision that excludes death by suicide unless the person bought the policy in anticipation or contemplation of suicide.
In this case, the insurance company can be forced to make good on their policy. And if the insurance company acted in bad faith, we can also pursue punitive damages and attorney fees.
At The Hoffmann Law Firm, L.L.C. we handle insurance disputes involving:
